Last Saturday the 11th Annual Polo in the City was held at Albert Park in Melbourne, Victoria.
This year I was lucky enough to be the offical Chadstone Ambassador for the event. The day was an incredible success, the sun was out, beautifully styled men and women were everywhere watching two great games of Polo.

The first game begun with me throwing the ball for an exciting first chukka. For those of you who don’t know what that is, it is the name of the quarters in Polo. Knowing my uncoordinated, lanky self, apparently my face expressed some concern with the throw (ha), which was later reassured by one of the Polo players, who stated it was perfect... (Phew!) With the first game in full action, the atmosphere was buzzing.
The Polo is always at the ideal time of year. The sun is always shining which translates into people’s mood and the vibe. Attendees were buzzing between marquees, with some of the major tents including Land Rover, Pol Roger, Politix, Somersby and plenty more. Having a few drinks in that environment, with all your friends there - it couldn't have been more perfect.

Being the official Chadstone Fashion Ambassador I was styled by them, wearing a gorgeous feminine, free flowing dress by The Kooples, an international designer brand new to the shopping centre. Accessories were from Kookai and Forever New, and shoes from Jo Mercer. Since the recent renovations at Chadstone the options are endless for event styling. There were some great Polo looks at designer stores like Zimmerman, Manning Cartel, Reiss and plenty more. You don't have to spend big either. Stores like H&M, Lovisa & Sheike all have great accessories for affordable prices.
Personally, one of the highlights of the day is Fashions on the Field. It’s a chance to see some really interesting and creative outfits that people pull together. The Polo is all about sophisticated, glam daywear. Think effortlessly stylish, with a touch of elegance. A key tip of mine is add something small to spice it up and create a point of difference.
This year I was on the judging panel. We had three stunning winners in both gender categories, who all fit the brief perfectly. They took home some great prizes gifted by Chadstone. A key reason the beautiful Nicole (pictured right) placed first, was because she nailed the classic, feminine brief but also managed to factor in the weather. At times on the day it was a bit overcast, so her embroidered jacket and boots really won us over. The attention to detail made her outfit stand out from the rest. Check out the video below to see!
For future polo fashion advice, think feminine and classic styled daywear looks. Accessories are vital. A detailed handbag or a statement jewellery piece is perfect to make your outfit pop. Hats are also a key, adding to a complete look and practical for the heat! The Polo is a summer event, so have fun with your outfit, feel confident and free in it!
Overall it was a fantastic day. Thanks for having me Chadstone! Until next year xx
